Beautifully Understood: Marcus Aurelius

As I continue to make plans for the future and check things off my “To Do List”.  There’s always a small voice that I overcome that tries to create a wall preventing me from getting to the other side.  The proverbial, 1st you gotta do this before you can even think of that, delay in proper planning.   If you have ever saw me you’ll notice a medallion tattoo on my right shoulder.  This is a Himalayan symbol for sisterhood and my 2 sisters have it as well.  Over the symbol we each have a word that has special meaning to us… Mine is STOICAL.. The meaning is simple yet very focused – A person who can endure pain or hardship without showing their feelings or complaining.  Trust me when I tell you, I’m going through it.  But it hasn’t altered my smile.  One of the greatest Stoic philosophers gave me (not personally, lol) this quote I want to share with you.

Marcus Aurelius

“Never let the future disturb you.  You will meet it, if you have to, with the same weapons of reason which today arm you against the present.”

Don’t let your plans for the future bother you, if it’s meant to be it will happen and you’ll have everything you need to be successful.  We seem to be the biggest negative force toward ourselves when we doubt that things can happen for us.  WE make it happen.  Keep smiling… 🙂
